“The La Paz Journalists Association (APLP for its initials in Spanish) and the La Paz Circle of Women Journalists (CMPLP) are reporting serious restrictions and obstacles imposed by the Ministry of Mining and Metallurgy on issuing accreditation and passes to cover the 2026 National Mining Summit, which will take place July 22-24 in the city of La Paz.
The Ministry of Mining and Metallurgy disabled the registration and accreditation form for journalists before the original deadline had passed, leaving out journalists who intended to register.
Other journalists who requested accreditation received a negative response from the ministry on the grounds that they had not demonstrated that they worked for a media outlet ‘specialized in mining.’ This criteria constitutes an arbitrary restriction and an obstruction to the work of the press.”
