“ ‘They threw stones at me, and one struck my ankle, causing an injury,” reported journalist and host of the program En Otro Formato, Nicolas Sanabria, who was attempting to speak yesterday with protesters blocking the highway between El Alto and Oruro.
‘When I arrived to talk with them... they got upset. They didn't want to talk. They probably feel uneasy, thinking that information gets distorted,’ commented the reporter, who is known for broadcasting breaking news from the streets via social media.
The journalist wanted to find out if the blockades along the main highway—which has been blocked since May 1 in support of protest measures organized by the Bolivian Workers' Center (COB) and several neighborhood councils in this city—will continue.”
