Influential newspaper Folha de S.Paulo filed a lawsuit in court against U.S. tech company Perplexity AI, accusing it of unfair competition, copyright infringement, and the unauthorized, uncompensated use of its news content. The filing asks São Paulo courts to order Perplexity to immediately cease scraping, storing, and reproducing its exclusive articles, while also seeking damages and the imposition of a daily fine for noncompliance.
