The PUMA FEST Latin American Environmental Journalism Festival will take place July 23 in Bogotá. The free event, organized by Mongabay Latam to mark its 10th anniversary, is open to journalists, scholars, students and anyone interested in the intersection of journalism and environmental issues. The festival will serve as a prelude to the Gabo Festival, which will be held in the Colombian capital from July 24 to 26.
Participants will have access to hands-on workshops, learn about the methodologies behind award-winning environmental investigations and hear firsthand accounts of Indigenous communication initiatives from the Amazon. The program also includes panel discussions on Latin America’s current environmental policy landscape and networking opportunities featuring more than 20 international journalists and experts.
Attendance is free, but advance registration is required for the workshops.
