Broadcast journalist in Argentina receives threatening messages while on air

“Journalist Facundo Pastor denounced live on [Argentine TV channel] A24 that he was being threatened by a person named Juan Ignacio, while a report was being broadcast about people arrested during a protest on Wednesday [Feb. 12] against the approval of a new law. Pastor received the messages when images of alleged infiltrators at the protest were being shown [...].

According to Pastor, [the alleged aggressor] was a man who claimed to be a journalist, whose telephone number had the code of the city of Tandil. Pastor told him that if he was a colleague from any media outlet and wanted to go on the air and join the debate, he should call. Pastor said that he would take the threats to a lawyer.

'This happens all the time, what strikes me is that it usually happens on social media, but now you are sending me messages to my personal phone, the one I am working with. What you don't want is for me to tell what we are saying here,' Pastor said."
