Mexican journalist denounces threats after exposing alleged corruption in the state of Veracruz

“Aldair Garnica Arcos, who identifies himself as executive director of [the Facebook page] Decisión Digital Noticias and collaborator of [the digital media outlet] NBC Diario, expressed on social media his fear of suffering reprisals for allegedly having exposed cases of corruption and human rights violations within the State Attorney General's Office [of Veracruz, Mexico].

According to the journalist, as a result of what he exposed, he has been the victim of threats, intimidation and obstacles that seek to silence him.

The journalist said that his Facebook account has been repeatedly attacked, in a clear attempt to silence him, and in view of this serious situation, he requested the intervention of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and international press freedom organizations to monitor his case.”
