Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and Press records 58 violations in January

"The Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and Press (ICLEP, for its initials in Spanish) recorded a total of 58 violations of freedoms of expression and of the press in Cuba during January 2025, according to its report published this Monday [Feb. 17].

ICLEP counted 23 attacks, threats and/or psychological aggressions, 15 abusive uses of state power, ten arbitrary detentions, four restrictions in the digital space, three reclusions and three physical aggressions.

Among the victims, nine were citizens, nine political prisoners, seven activists, six opponents, four journalists and two artists. Of these, 27 are men and 10 are women."
