"Journalist Bruno Assunção, from SBT Rio, was attacked by demonstrators while covering the arrest of rapper Oruam in front of the 16th Police Station in the Barra da Tijuca area of Rio de Janeiro, on Thursday.
"Assunção took to social media to report the incident and the assaults. He said criminals infiltrated among the demonstrators attacked him and other media professionals, including a producer from Record TV Rio and a journalist from another outlet. 'It was truly absurd and unacceptable. What the press went through here is something no journalist should have to face,' he said.

"The attackers were part of a group of young people and teenagers protesting for Oruam’s release after he was detained for a traffic violation. Some even mocked the journalist before the attack."
