"Igor Melo, a student and owner of the website 'Informe Botafogo', was shot on Monday [24 February] by a reserve military police officer after being mistaken for a bandit when he was leaving the place where he works, in Penha, in the north section of Rio de Janeiro.
According to journalist Renan Moura, from Rádio Globo/CBN, he was shot as he was traveling home aboard an Uber Moto.
Igor is being treated at Getúlio Vargas Hospital, where he underwent surgery and lost his right kidney."
