Colombian news team receives death threats after covering transfemicide

The Colombian tabloid "Q'Hubo Medellín reported on its social media accounts threats against its team of journalists after covering the murder of Sara Millerey González, an event that occurred on April 6 in the town of Bello, neighboring the city of Medellín.

'The calm in our newsroom was shattered after publishing a video of this painful news on Instagram, when we received a death threat through our social media', the news outlet said in a statement.

The statement said that, in addition to the threatening messages, one of its journalists received intimidating calls that evidenced the risk of the situation.

Through a public statement, Q'Hubo's parent company Grupo Colombiano rejected the intimidating acts directed to its press team after covering the murder on its platforms".
