Bolivian journalists robbed and assaulted while covering clash over city’s garbage

"A Unitel press team yesterday was assaulted, held and robbed while covering the conflict in Cotapachi over the treatment of garbage from the city of Cochabamba in central Bolivia.

The journalist Paola Cadima reported that she was in the area of Mirador Colcapirhua covering the confrontations between two groups one that opposes the entry of waste from Cochabamba and the other that supports the entry of garbage trucks.

She said they were cornered [by one of the groups] and that they threw dynamite at them, which failed to detonate. The journalist was left with bruises."
