President of Argentina denounces three journalists for defamation

"This Friday [May 9], the president [of Argentina] Javier Milei denounced journalists Carlos Pagni, Viviana Canosa and Ari Lijalad for alleged ‘slander or false accusation’ and ‘libel’ in the federal courts of [Comodoro Py Avenue] in [the Buenos Aires neighborhood of] Retiro, despite the fact that these are offenses that were decriminalized in 2009.

In the case of Pagni, the complaint refers to alleged statements made by the journalist on April 28 on his program ‘Odisea Argentina,’ where, according to Milei's filing, several statements were reportedly made that ‘seriously’ affected his ‘honor and reputation.’

In the case of Canosa, from Channel 13, Milei denounced her because, he claims, she called him a ‘despot’ and ‘authoritarian’ when she would have compared him to ‘dictatorial leaders’; and in the case of Lijalad, from [the digital media outlet] El Destape, Milei also accused him for an alleged allusion to Hitler."
