"Radio Fides and Agencia de Noticias Fides journalist David Pizarro was attacked on Thursday, May 29, with pepper spray by a riot police officer while he was recording images of the arrest of demonstrators on Belisario Salinas street in La Paz, Bolivia.
Pizarro, along with other reporters, was reporting for his media outlet on the clashes between supporters of former President Evo Morales and police guarding the Supreme Electoral Court building, located in Plaza Avaroa in the Sopocachi area [in the Bolivian capital].
While he was following the scenes with his camera, a policeman fired a canister of pepper spray, affecting the journalist and a reporter who complained: 'why are you gassing us?', according to the video recording released by Fides."
