"Councilman Hygor Magalhães (Christian Democracy) expelled journalist Melk Santos from the Itacoatiara City Council on Tuesday night (14). The incident occurred during a session marked by the vote to archive the impeachment request of councilman Ney Nobre (MDB), sentenced to more than 10 years in prison. Hygor threatened to handcuff the reporter if he did not leave the plenary.
Before the expulsion, Hygor Magalhães had already criticized the press and asked the public not to trust news published by internet portals, according to an investigation by Rede Amazônica.
