Explosion outside RCN headquarters in Cali, Colombia, damages building

“An explosion was reported on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 16, outside the RCN headquarters in Cali, in southwestern Colombia, prompting a large security deployment in the industrial Los Mangos neighborhood in the city center. The blast occurred after an explosive device was thrown at the news outlet’s building.

According to preliminary information, the device was thrown onto Eighth Avenue, between 30th and 31st streets, near the administrative area of RCN’s headquarters. The explosion damaged some of the building’s windows. Police confirmed no injuries were reported.

After the blast, the area was cordoned off by police officers and local officials. Authorities began inspecting the site to identify any additional damage and secure the area for further investigation.”
