"The Union of Journalists of the State of Pará [in Brazil] and the National Federation of Journalists (FENAJ, by its acronym in Portuguese) publicly condemn the court decisions that censored the reports published by journalist Adriano Wilkson regarding the Municipal Administrative Reform of the Belém City Council […] and the suspicion of overpriced contracts signed by the municipal administration with the company BRA Produtora.
The rulings ordered the immediate removal from the journalist's social media accounts, specifically Instagram, of the videos titled 'Igor and the Barbalho Media Create a Fantasy About Teachers' Salaries,' 'A Teacher's Report from Pará,' 'POV: You Rented the Most Expensive Headphones in the World,' and '16 Million Reais for a Virtual Classroom Studio.' Furthermore, they imposed censorship on the journalist, prohibiting him from publicly addressing these issues.
These decisions, including the decree of judicial secrecy on matters of clear public interest, constitute a serious affront to freedom of the press and expression, as well as to the principles guaranteed by the Federal Constitution."
