National Association of Journalists of Peru meets with President Castillo

"The National Association of Journalists of Peru (ANP) met with the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo Terrones, to expose the needs of journalists from all over the country.

National leaders from Huánuco, San Martín, Amazonas, Loreto, Cajamarca, Tumbes, Piura, Ancash, Puno, Cusco, Junín, Ucayali and Lima held a working meeting with the head of state focusing on the main problems of the sector, such as abandonment in matters of social protection, particularly in the situation of local journalists; evidenced by the fact that 198 journalists have died as a result of the pandemic, so it is urgent that the State provide a legal mechanism in favor of men and women of the press who experience daily precariousness."
