Brazil: Registration for the 17th Abraji Congress is now open

"As of this Tuesday, July 5, 2022, registrations are open for one of the largest journalistic meetings in Latin America. Promoted by Abraji since 2005, the 17th International Congress of Investigative Journalism takes place from Aug. 3 to 7, in a hybrid format, with more than 80 activities and nearly 200 speakers.

'We faced the proposal to hold, for the first time, a conference in hybrid format, facilitating the participation of journalists from other regions without giving up the face-to-face meeting that has not happened in two years,' said Abraji's president, Natalia Mazotte. 'In 2022 we celebrate Abraji's 20th anniversary and face the challenges of a presidential election and a polarized political environment. We created a program that reflects that environment of reunion, celebration, and challenges for journalistic practice,' she added.

The program is spread over five days, from Wednesday to Sunday. On Aug. 3 and 4, the free online part of the event will be held. The in-person and paid version (without webcasting) will take place from Aug. 5 to 7, at FAAP (Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado), in São Paulo. The last day of the Congress is entirely dedicated to the fourth edition of Data Sunday, with workshops on data journalism, as well as behind-the-scenes research related to the theme."
