Scholars, journalists and media executives from 12 countries shared experiences about online journalism that are particular to Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. The Third Ibero-American Colloquium on Digital Journalism took place in Austin on April 25, 2010.

The colloquium, organized by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, followed the 11th International Online Journalism Symposium, held April 23-24.

The Ibero-American colloquium featured informal presentations about the challenges of digital journalism, difficulties in covering drug trafficking, and experiences involving the integration of newsrooms. Other presentations illustrated several different innovations and challenges experienced by journalists and media companies working in the Ibero-American countries, and in specific regions such as the U.S.–Mexico border.
