"Another journalist became a victim of violence in Colombia. Rafael Emiro Moreno, director of the digital news outlet Voces de Córdoba and an activist in his home state, was murdered in the city of Montelíbano (Córdoba), Colombia, on the night of Oct. 16, 2022. Moreno was killed by hitmen in the 27 de Julio neighborhood of that municipality, while he was in a fast food restaurant he owned.
According to the organization Indepaz, ‘local media reported that a few months ago Moreno’s protection scheme assigned by the UNP, which had been granted due to death threats he had received on different occasions, was withdrawn.'"
