"The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) announces that it will grant awards to media outlets, executives, and institutions in four new categories in the framework of sustainable journalism, which are in addition to its annual competition for Excellence in Journalism.
The new categories are Transformational Sustainability, Digital Transformation, Executive of the Year, and Great Friend of the Press. These are in addition to 15 other categories that the IAPA awards annually to journalists and other media workers, including the Grand Prize for Press Freedom.
The chair of the IAPA Awards Committee, Leonor Mulero, said: "With this initiative, the organization intends to support, in a more direct way, the transformations occurring in the press industry in the technological and commercial/financial order."
