Peruvian Public Prosecutor's Office investigates National Police for injuring journalist during demonstration

"Independent journalist Gabriela Ramos Carbajal was wounded with five pellets fired by the police in the face and body during the recent protest on Abancay Avenue, in downtown Lima [Peru]. In view of this fact, the Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation against the Peruvian National Police [PNP] for the alleged crime of minor injuries during the demonstrations.

Witnesses recorded this situation with videos and images in which Gabriela can be seen sitting on a sidewalk in great pain. In the midst of the aggressions, people who were in the place tried to help her. In addition, the victim was taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention."
