"Jorge Ugalde, a journalist in [the Mexican state of] Quintana Roo, was the victim of a gun attack on Sunday, July 30, when his home, located in the municipality of Benito Juárez, was shot at. [...] Through a video, Ugalde denounced the attack against him and shared evidence, in which it can be seen that at least two individuals were responsible for the aggression.
The attack against the journalist took place around 8:00 pm on Sunday, when the two individuals approached his home and shot at it. Ugalde explained that fortunately, at that moment, he was not at home.

The journalist said that he and his team at the Descontento Ciudadano Quintanarroense news outlet have received several threats from different actors. Therefore, he will demand that all of them be investigated and no line of investigation is ruled out. According to Article 19 records, since 2019 to date, Jorge Ugalde and his team have been victims of at least 16 attacks and aggressions."
