Journalists from Honduras, Nicaragua and Mexico among winners of Ortega y Gasset awards

The jury for the Ortega y Gasset Journalism Awards announced the winners of the 41st edition of the prizes, considered the most prestigious in journalism in Spanish.

In the best story or investigation category, the winning project was about an Indigenous community on the border between Honduras and Nicaragua, published in Insight Crime. The story of a small community fighting against a business conglomerate in Mexico and published by N+Focus won in the best multimedia coverage category.

The award for best photography went to Mohammed Salem for an image taken in the middle of the war in Gaza, while the award for career achievement went to Spanish journalist Cristina García Rodero.

The awards will be presented in Barcelona for the first time in their 41-year history. The ceremony will take place on April 23.
