Days after the attack on Mexican newspaper El Debate, one of its deliverymen is kidnapped

“A deliveryman of the newspaper El Debate, in Culiacán [Mexico], was kidnapped in the morning [of Oct. 19] as he was on his way home. This occurred one day after the governor of [the state of] Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, promised to guarantee security for the workers of that publishing house after the shooting attack to its facilities [...].

According to the newspaper, the deliveryman was chased in the center of the city by individuals who managed to throw him off the motorcycle that he rides to deliver newspapers. The victim managed to get to his feet and got to safety in a store. Later, one of his colleagues took him to the Red Cross for a knee injury caused by the fall. [...] On the way from the Red Cross to his home he was found again by the assailants who had chased him and then abducted him; the colleague was let go.

[...] The victim's son asked on social media for the release of the man, who he identified as Sergio Cárdenas Hernández. ‘Please share, he is my dad, the deliveryman from El Debate who was kidnapped, he was just working.’"
