A decree signed by President Daniel Noboa declared a state of emergency and curfew in various provinces of Ecuador but exempts media workers from these restrictions. However, the police demanded Ordóñez present a transit permit—a requirement that had not been communicated to media professionals, according to Ordóñez’s statement.”
