Brazil's ex-president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva criticized the "opinion makers" for trying to create differences between his government and that of his successor, President Dilma Rousseff, reported Estado de S. Paulo. Lula made the remarks at an event commemorating 31 years of the Workers Party (PT) on Feb. 10.
“Dilma's success is my success, Dilma's failure is my failure," Lula said, as quoted by O Globo.
In the former president's speech at the party's festivities, the press was given a beating, wrote Reinaldo Azevedo, magazine columnist for Veja.
During his presidency, on several occasions Lula attacked the press, which earned him the criticism of various media outlets and journalistic organizations.
