Police arrest photojournalist during eviction of Occupy protesters in Miami

In yet another example of why the U.S. plummeted in Reporters' Without Borders' annual press freedom rankings, Miami photojournalist Carlos Miller said police erased the images on his camera when he was arrested while covering the police eviction of Occupy protesters, according to the Miami New Times.

Ironically, the officer who arrested Miller is a public information officer -- someone whose job it is to work with the media, Miller wrote on his blog, Photography is Not a Crime.

The photojournalist was arrested the night of Tuesday, Jan. 31, and charged with resisting arrest, according to the Huffington Post.

Since the Occupy protests started, 44 journalists in 11 U.S. cities have been arrested, according to a Storify tracking arrests.
