World Press Institute offering international fellowship for journalists to spend 9 weeks in the U.S.

The World Press Institute (WPI) is accepting applications for the 2012 WPI Fellowship. The fellowship brings 10 print, broadcast, and online journalists from around the world to the United States for a nine-week program.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 31. See here for eligibility requirements.

As part of the program, which begins Aug. 10, 2012, fellows will spend four weeks total in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn., and five weeks in various U.S. cities. Throughout the fellowship participants will be expected to write for the WPI blog, WPI Reports, and submit up to three stories for publication.

All program costs, lodging, food and transportation to and from the U.S. and within the U.S. are paid for by the fellowship.
