"The Brazilian Press Association (ABI for its initials in Portuguese) filed a petition with the Federal Supreme Court on Wednesday, Feb. 26, signed by 29 journalist and civil society organizations, along with 550 journalists, legal experts, politicians, and public figures. The petition, addressed to Chief Justice Luís Roberto Barroso, calls for the suspension of charges and lawsuits against journalist Marcelo Auler, citing a decision that contradicts the Supreme Court's jurisprudence.
ABI also requested a meeting with Justice Barroso, expected to take place after carnival, to personally deliver the document."
