"Marcela Palma Godoy, sister of the Chilean journalist Alberto Tito Palma, murdered 15 years ago in Mayor Otaño, department of Itapúa [Paraguay], expressed her regret for the inaction and impunity existing in the country, due to the fact that the case of her relative did not make any progress all these years.
Tito Palma was murdered on Aug. 22, 2007, when he was working as director of the radio station Vy'arenda, of Mayor Otaño, and was a collaborator of Chaco Boreal. At that time, he was shot 11 times by people dressed in military uniforms.
According to what Marcela Palma pointed out in an open letter from Coyhaique, Chile, Tito Palma was killed 'for denouncing organized crime and corruption.' The journalist's sister claimed that this past Monday marked another August of impunity."
