On the occasion of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, UNESCO calls on all states to fulfill their commitments and put an end to impunity for the murders of journalists.

A new UNESCO report highlights the continued high rate of impunity in journalist murders: 85% of all murders recorded by the organization since 2006 are considered unresolved. The report also reveals the alarming fact that the number of female journalists killed is at its highest level since 2017, with 14 killed.
