"Abraji (Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism) is concerned about the decision of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF, for its acronym in Portuguese), to prohibit the interview of Filipe Martins, former advisor to former president Jair Bolsonaro, to Folha from S.Paulo.

Filipe Martins was imprisoned for six months, accused by the STF of alleged participation in a plot that would aim for a coup d'état during the 2022 presidential elections. Released by Moraes, the former advisor must comply with a series of precautionary measures, one of which is the prohibition of communicating with other people being investigated.

Even though there is an ongoing investigation, the denial of this interview ends up harming society as a whole, which could better understand what happened in the turbulent post-election period, in which Bolsonarismo is accused of plotting a coup d'état and promoting situations of confrontation with the current authorities and destruction of national heritage."
