Adepa and Fopea express concern about Argentine government's project to regulate use of social media

"The Association of Argentine Journalistic Organizations (ADEPA) and the Argentine Journalism Forum (FOPEA) expressed their concern tonight about the Government's initiative through which it would aim to regulate opinions on social media. Through communiqués, both entities criticized the declarations of the Secretary of Strategic Affairs, Gustavo Beliz, and warned that "this type of initiative implies a clear risk for freedom of expression and the plurality of ideas."

"Adepa observes with concern, due to its potential effect on freedom of expression, the announcement of a series of initiatives, which would have the participation of state agencies, aimed at monitoring and influencing the use of social media," said Adepa on its first tweet."
