Goyo, as he was known in the press corps, was a reporter for the newspaper Notisur. He disappeared on Feb. 5, 2014 and his body was found on Feb. 12 of the same year. Governor Javier Duarte de Ochoa assured at the time that he was murdered for 'personal problems,' although his relatives pointed out that it was because of a published feature story."
