The Nicaraguan journalist Hazel Zamora Hernández, news director of a local program and collaborator of Channel 10 television in Nicaragua's southern Caribbean, was detained on Friday, May 5, by the National Police, according to the website Alertas Libertad de Prensa Nicaragua.
The journalist was detained by police while traveling with her children in a public transport bus.
Zamora Hernández is the third journalist to be detained in the past three days.
Last Wednesday [May 3], in the evening hours, journalists William Aragón and Óscar Vallecillo were arrested and charged with the crimes of conspiracy to undermine national integrity and spreading fake news, considered as 'treason to the homeland.'"
