"Reporter Enrique Ortiz, a correspondent for Crónica TV and AGNoticias in the province of Misiones in Argentina, suffered [on Jan. 15] a brutal and cowardly physical attack. Lawyer Gustavo Maldonado and another unidentified person entered his home, beating and threatening to kill Ortiz.
A few days earlier Ortiz covered the eviction of a family who claimed abuses in the procedure. The lawyer for those evicting the residents is Maldonado. In the news coverage, Ortiz reported irregularities in the procedure and showed Maldonado. This would have been the trigger."
