“At least 530 aggressions against journalists were recorded in 2024 in Colombia, as reported the Foundation for Press Freedom (FLIP, for its initials in Spanish), which showed its concern because this figure represents a notable increase with respect to the 470 in 2023.
This is what emerges from the article 'The censorship of the new war' written by FLIP researchers Juan Diego Cárdenas and César Paredes, who point out that of the total number of aggressions, '122 were carried out by criminal or delinquent groups, which represented an increase of 51.8 % in the participation of these actors in violence against the press with respect to 2023.'”
