"In the context of anti-democratic protests organized by supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who defeated in these elections, several press professionals - among reporters, cameramen and photographers - have denounced harassment and attacks aimed at preventing journalistic coverage. In different parts of the country, protesters have been blocking roads since last Mon. Oct. 31, not accepting the results of the elections.

In Divinópolis, a municipality in the central-western region of Minas Gerais, a news crew from TV Candidés was assaulted and harassed while covering the movement on a stretch of highway MG-050. The cameraman and the reporter were pushed out of the place, amid attacks such as saying that the team should go to Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.

In the city of Limeira, located 154 kilometers from the state capital, a freelance photographer and a reporter from Radio Educadora de Limeira were also driven away with shoving and insults while covering the blockades in the city. There were also attempts to destroy equipment, the photographer's told Abraji."
