"The Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji, by its Portuguese acronym) has just made available on an online platform a free physical safety training course aimed at journalists from all over Brazil. The course was taught by RPS Training Solutions, a British company specialized in protection, safety and medical training. It was originally offered in June this year to 50 journalists, chosen based on gender, race and region criteria.
The journalists selected for the training, besides being trained to deal with situations of violence, had the mission of sharing the knowledge and lessons with other professionals in the field. The two-day course is now available on Abraji's YouTube channel.
The content is divided into five modules: Planning and preparation; Surveillance; First aid; Knowledge about vests and weapons; and Conflict management."
