"The winners of the Javier Valdez Latin American Investigative Journalism Award were announced at the 16th edition of the Latin American Conference on Investigative Journalism (COLPIN), held from Nov. 5 to 8, 2025, at the University of Palermo in Argentina.
The jury selected four investigations from more than 300 submissions. First place went to Farra en el INSS by Luiz Vassallo and Fabio Leite of Metrópoles (Brazil). Second place was a tie between Televisa Leaks by Carmen Aristegui, Sebastián Barragán Hidalgo, Brandon J. Celaya Torres, Regina Diez Gutiérrez, Juan Omar Fierro, and Lilia Saúl Rodríguez of Aristegui Noticias (Mexico), and Buscando a Mikelson by Juan Martínez d’Aubuisson of Dromómanos and Redacción Regional. Third place went to No fuimos Dinamarca by Nayeli Roldán of Animal Político (Mexico)."
