Brazil: Court to hear appeal by journalist Juliana Dal Piva against Bolsonaro family lawyer on April 20

"When she was feeling threatened by Frederick Wassef, Jair Bolsonaro's family lawyer, journalist Juliana Dal Piva, of UOL, released the printout of a message sent by him on a messaging application. Dal Piva was convicted in a trial court for making public the information and she appealed the ruling. The 4th Chamber of Private Law of the TJ-SP (São Paulo Court of Justice) set for April 20 the appeal filed by the Defense of the journalist.

The case may have repercussions for press professionals all over the country [of Brazil], since the case discusses whether a threatening message can be made public or not."
