"A group of residents of the luxury condominium Vila de Anoman, in Maresias, São Sebastião, Brazil physically assaulted with swear words a reporter of [newspaper] Estadão who was covering the tragedy [caused by a storm] on the northern coast of São Paulo.
One of them forced the photo reporter Tiago Queiroz to delete pictures he had taken of the flooded condominium streets with damaged cars. Queiroz, however, saved the images on another memory card. Another resident pushed reporter Renata Cafardo into a flooded area and tried to steal her cell phone. An employee of the condominium and other residents had authorized the reporter to enter the site.
When this group saw the feature story, however, they started cursing the team and accusing Estadão of being "communist and leftist." Then they started pushing the photographer and the reporter. Queiroz was surrounded, his camera was taken away, and then one of them tried to take the cell phone from the reporter's hand. As he [the agressor] couldn't, he pushed Cafardo into a flooded area, who fell into the water. He only stopped the aggression because residents passing by on the street held him back."
