Judge Olinda de Quadros Altomare of the 11th Civil Court of Cuiabá rejected Mendes and Luís Antônio's request to have the newspaper A Gazeta's reports removed from the outlet's website. The governor and his son's request for R$660,000 (about US$122,000) in compensation from the newspaper and the reporter responsible for the investigation, Pablo Rodrigo, was also denied.
