Journalist Pablo Raphael Rua, from the Coluna do Fla website, claimed to have received threats from Vasco da Gama president Pedrinho during and after the classic match between soccer teams Flamengo and Vasco, held last Saturday (April 19), at Maracanã Stadium. The episode generated strong repercussions and led the Association of Sports Writers of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Acerj) to release an official statement of repudiation against the conduct of the Vasco da Gama director.
During the match, Pedrinho had already shown irritation with the presence of the journalist in the press box, even making hostile gestures in his direction. The situation, however, escalated after the final whistle, when Rua was heading to the mixed zone to continue his coverage. At that moment, according to the journalist's account and videos posted on social media, the president of Vasco surrounded him and insulted him, using curse words.
