Chilean Association of Journalists observed limitations on press access during Plebiscite

"The Chilean Association of Journalists detected, thanks to the work of the Overseers for the Right to Communication team, various limitations on press freedom during the National Plebiscite, many due to poor judgment and respect for the protocols of the Electoral Service in polling places.

According to what was observed by  journalists in various regions of the country, during the day of Oct. 25 there were impediments to accreditation as press for independent journalists, absence of a list of media authorized to enter the polling stations, prohibition and expulsion of journalists from polling places and vote counting; and detention of communication professionals."
