"Police officers from the 8th Precinct of the Department of Homicide and Protection of Persons (DHPP) arrested on Feb. 11, 2022 a man who was hiding in a house in the Pirambu neighborhood, in Fortaleza, Brazil, with 43 bags of marijuana. Thiago de Sousa Barros, 20, was named by a witness as the person who shot dead blogger Givanildo Oliveira, on the night of Feb. 7, 2022. Barros denies participation in the crime.
Barros was arrested along with his girlfriend, who is two months pregnant. He also responds to other enquiries for intentional homicide, illegal possession of a firearm, robbery, and traffic crimes. The detainee was named, according to the testimony of a witness whose name is kept anonymous, as a member of the Comando Vermelho (CV) gang."
