"'If she were blonde and blue-eyed, you wouldn't be pissing her off,' a CNN employee said to another collaborator responsible for editing the live entries. According to reports, journalist Basília Rodrigues was the target of a racially motivated persecution, which caused discomfort among professionals at the station.
Basília has been a political commentator for CNN since March 2020 and does live shots with information from behind the scenes in Brasilia. (...) In recent live appearances by Basília Rodrigues, the image editors also opted to hide the commentator, leaving only her voice and using supportive images to illustrate the live shots.
By e-mail, [CNN Brasil's] press office replied that it does not tolerate any discrimination and that the human resources department rigorously investigates the reported cases."
