"The Colombian Constitutional Court overturned a sentence that was issued against journalist Vicky Dávila. This sentence obliged Dávila to make financial reparations to a former police officer involved in an alleged corruption scandal.
The court [in a 117-page ruling on Dec. 13] said the evidence collected shows the claims made by Dávila were well-founded. In addition, key rights such as freedom of expression and freedom of the press must be respected and strengthened."
