"On July 14, the Foundation for Press Freedom (FLIP) warned about the progress of the lawsuit for libel and slander that is being pursued against the director of Noticias Uno and columnist of the newspaper El Espectador, Cecilia Orozco, which was filed by the former Attorney General of the Nation, Néstor Humberto Martínez, in 2019.
The organization, which monitors violations against freedom of the press in Colombia, warned about the 'serious consequences' that could befall the journalist who was summoned by the Attorney General's Office for an arraignment, in which the entity usually seeks to verify some data to 'notify of he indictment and the formal start of the process.'"
